Dr. Johnson has over 20 years of experience as a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist. She was the first woman to complete her program in general surgery and was among the first published authors in the country on the topic of minimally invasive breast surgery. She is a former Chief of Surgery and was the founder of one of the largest breast surgical oncology programs within a cancer health system. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and has been appointed to multiple national committees, including the FDA’s medical device committee and advisory committees for the Society of Surgical Oncology as well as the American College of Surgeons. She is a world-renowned spokeswoman on women’s health and is also a champion of value-based healthcare, assisting health systems in delivering optimal care while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
